2019 Welcome Event - Sustainability at Edinburgh

This social mixer event is hosted by Department of Social Responsibility & Sustainability, and the Global Environment and Society Academy  who will talk you through the many ways to get involved with sustainability at the University of Edinburgh.

Via our networks, we bring together students and staff from across the University to explore interdisciplinary perspectives and encourage collegiality. We have a very active community and an approachable Academic network. We aim to support student-led projects and initiatives and can often introduce you to the right people or initiatives.

We will be joined by some of our local community groups, societies and businesses that can help you be a sustainable student during your time at Edinburgh.

This event is open to all University of Edinburgh students across undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research.  We also welcome interested members of staff to join us.

GESA is led by Prof. Pete Higgins and Prof. Elizabeth Bomberg and exists as an interdisciplinary network bringing together staff, students and practitioners to enhance knowledge exchange, teaching and research. GESA comprises of faculty and student members University-wide with teaching responsibilities and research interests in environment and society.

We act as a hub for collaboration, highlighting the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to tackling global environmental challenges. This means we develop and encourage collegiality across the University and beyond; an approach that builds a vibrant Global community of talented people at the forefront of addressing environmental issues.
